Cybersecurity Engineer - Product Development

About the role

Join Visa's Cyber Product Development team to build secure automation solutions that support cybersecurity operations across a global payments network. In this DevSecOps-focused engineering role, you will use Python, generative AI tools, and agentic development patterns to streamline alert triage, evidence collection, investigations, and analyst workflows. You will collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, operations, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready applications, APIs, and internal tools. The position combines hands-on software development with testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of secure AI-enabled systems. Successful candidates bring strong coding skills, cybersecurity incident response knowledge, and experience delivering reliable solutions independently within a collaborative team. This hybrid position requires at least three days in the office each week and approximately 5% to 10% travel. Compensation may include bonus and equity eligibility.

What you'll do

• Build Python-based agents and automation for cybersecurity investigations and incident response.
• Develop secure APIs, dashboards, and containerized applications using Python, Django, and Linux.
• Integrate generative AI agents with security platforms using REST APIs, MCP, and A2A.
• Analyze security data using SQL, Elastic Stack, and Lucene-based search.
• Validate code and agent behavior through automated testing, security reviews, and auditable execution controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, document solutions, and support production deployments.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Product development and hands-on AI agent development experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with Linux, web frameworks, and containers.
• Understanding of cybersecurity incident response, alert triage, evidence collection, and remediation.
• Experience with agentic design patterns, tool calling, and AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or CLINE.
• Knowledge of source control, CI/CD, automated testing, SQL, and effective technical documentation.
