Travel RN, Mobile Public Health and Primary Care

About the role

ColoVAX is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse to support the Navajo Public Health Nursing Program through mobile public health and primary care services in rural Navajo Nation communities. This community-based role serves areas surrounding Kayenta Health Center, Inscription House Health Clinic, and Navajo Mountain Community Health Center. The RN will provide preventive nursing care, health education, patient assessment, and care coordination while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and tribal health partners. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, flexibility for travel between service locations, and a respectful, culturally responsive approach to patient relationships. This onsite travel assignment offers an opportunity to help improve access to essential services, strengthen continuity of care, and support sustainable community wellness. Assignment schedules, compensation, and benefit eligibility will be confirmed during the hiring process.

What you'll do

• Deliver mobile nursing assessments and preventive care within RN scope of practice.
• Provide patient and family education on wellness and chronic disease management.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with local clinics and public health teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and protect patient confidentiality.
• Travel between assigned communities and deliver culturally responsive care.

What you'll bring

• Active RN license valid for practice in Arizona and applicable service settings.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Public health, primary care, home health, or comparable nursing experience.
• Ability to travel to rural service locations with reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and respect for Navajo cultural practices and tribal health protocols.
