Accountant

About the role

Jobot is recruiting an Accountant for a well-established client in the natural resources and energy sector in Lancaster County, South Carolina. This full-time, onsite opportunity offers an annual salary of $70,000 to $80,000. You will support financial operations across general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Working with a collaborative team, you will help maintain effective internal controls, support audits, and improve accounting processes in a complex industrial environment. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of GAAP, careful attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly across departments. What you'll do

• Manage journal entries, general ledger activity, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses.
• Maintain internal controls and help improve accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare audit documentation and coordinate requests with external auditors.
• Collaborate across departments to improve financial reporting and process efficiency.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience; 5 or more years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit support.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong analytical, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• CPA certification, a master's degree, or energy industry experience preferred.
