Tax Accountant

About the role

Jobot is recruiting a Tax Accountant for a property management and investment company in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The company operates and develops properties with a focus on exceptional experiences and strong returns for owners. In this full-time, hybrid role, you will join the accounting and finance team to prepare and review tax returns, support compliance, and identify practical tax planning opportunities. You will collaborate across departments, research changing regulations, and help translate complex tax matters into clear business recommendations. Ideal candidates bring at least three years of tax accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented approach to managing competing deadlines. The position offers an annual salary of $80,000 to $90,000, bonus opportunities, and medical, dental, and vision coverage.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Research tax laws and identify compliance requirements and planning opportunities.
• Prepare tax projections and estimates to support business planning.
• Assist with tax audits and responses to tax authorities.
• Analyze tax-related financial statements and coordinate accurate, timely reporting.
• Advise internal stakeholders on tax strategies and explain complex tax issues.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least three years of tax accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to accuracy.
• CPA certification or an advanced degree preferred.
