Line Technician/Technical Instructor

About the role

Jefferson Energy Cooperative is seeking a full-time Line Technician/Technical Instructor in Jefferson County, Georgia. This onsite role combines journeyman-level electric utility line experience with practical instruction to support safe, reliable overhead and underground construction and maintenance. The ideal candidate brings strong field knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to explain technical procedures clearly to employees with varying experience levels. Applicants must have at least three years of satisfactory journeyman-level line technician experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid Class A CDL. What you'll do

• Provide practical instruction on overhead and underground electric line work.
• Demonstrate safe construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Support line crews with journeyman-level technical knowledge and field guidance.
• Evaluate employee skills and identify opportunities for additional training.
• Maintain training records and reinforce applicable safety standards.

What you'll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited lineman apprenticeship, or relevant experience considered in lieu of formal education.
• At least three years of satisfactory journeyman-level experience in both overhead and underground construction, equivalent to JEC Line Technician III.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification and valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• ITS certification, DOT Flagger certification, and OSHA 30-Hour training preferred.
• Associate degree in a technical or management-related field preferred.
