Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

Hatley Health Care Inc is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support Nursing Services in Chilton County, Alabama. This onsite role combines medication administration, direct resident care, and day-to-day supervision of nursing assistants and other nonlicensed staff. Working with the Director of Nursing, physicians, and the care team, you will monitor resident conditions, maintain accurate clinical records, and help implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities include medication passes, wound care, shift coordination, and timely communication with residents and families. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, a calm approach under pressure, and a commitment to treating older adults with dignity and respect. Weekend medication nurse rotations are part of the role. What you'll do

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, verify resident identities, and reconcile narcotic counts.
• Monitor resident conditions and promptly communicate changes to physicians, nursing leadership, and families.
• Supervise nursing assistants, coordinate shift coverage, and help orient new nursing personnel.
• Maintain accurate charts, medication records, physician orders, and incident documentation.
• Provide wound care, assist with feeding and daily care needs, and support individualized care plans.
• Follow infection prevention, resident rights, HIPAA, and safety policies while participating in quality assurance.

What you'll bring

• Current Alabama Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing.
• At least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for clinical documentation and communication.
• Ability to supervise and instruct staff using sound judgment within the LPN scope of practice.
• Patience, tact, and a positive approach to older adults, with the ability to remain calm under stress.
• Ability to perform essential physical care duties with reasonable accommodation and participate in weekend rotations.
